The Product

Egg Washer

Client: Rotomaid

Our designers have got cracking on a wide variety of projects in their time, but this is definitely one of the more unusual ones. Rotomaid are the producers of a very effective egg washer, which gently washes 200 eggs at a time. However, the first version of the product was made from pressed steel. In the harsh working environment of a farm, it tarnished quickly and a more robust solution was needed. Gordon Ellis & Co. and Rotomaid worked to improve the existing idea, using the benefits of rotational moulding to add more selling features to the product. Using polyethylene components instead of steel gives the product more impact strength, better resistance to the weather and prevents rusting or tarnishing. It is easy to clean and scratches show up much less. The egg washer looks better for longer.
